I wouldn't purposefully subject my daughters to that BS. I overheard her once saying, "being married to a doctor isn't what you think it is" and this is what I think she was referring to. I am so happy to have found this blog. I so agree with all these points about surviving medicine. Can they keep a job and or clean up after themselves. But that parent-child relationship was bound to change anyways as you become an adult. If someone is going to cheat on you, it has nothing to do with their profession. They seriously have movies about it. And he needs to trust his instincts if he thinks she's being dishonest. She started crying when I explained this to her.
I guess if u believe an angel with a sword really did force Joseph Smith to marry those girls. As soon as she becomes dissatisfied, she will turn face and educate the OP about just how wrong it would be for her to stay with him. How would that motivate you to work out every day to get a girl. There are so many potential problems they would fill a book. Plan on knowing their religion better than they do at all times. Mormon women are more likely to date outside of the religion than men, but also very unlikely to convert to a different religion. We've been dating two plus years, and we find a key is taking vacations. I prayed about whether to marry this man, and I felt and still feel strongly that it was right for me. While you will be of the right age to date, the Church discourages you from trying to date someone while on your mission trip.
I know what they really make, and what they really spend. My parents met when my mom was in 8th grade and married when she was I think my sister married fastest and knew her husband at least 18 months, dating for at least half that. Anyone who's a decent human being should be able to know right from wrong and act accordingly. Might be worth working through the missionary lessons and CES letter to see if they can agree at least to disagree. I can see how it would be easy to think wow, I'm not even worth 3 minutes of conversation and I don't want you to feel that way. With so much pervasive degeneracy in the media, Mormon parents think they are safe showing their kids Disney movies. It was not just frustrating but also saddening and stressful.
She asked me to read that site and write down questions. I forgot to add, that if you marry and alow your children to be raised as Mormon, chances are you wont be able to be at their wedding because it will be in the temple. I wish you all well on your recovery from this particularly vile church. In each case, you should also consider how this will affect your families.
